Between the sea and the mountains are hidden beautiful churches and castles, which fascinate all the visitors. There are hundreds unknown wonders: from the lovely streets of Scanno to Rocca Calascio, and the archaeological sites are located in naturalistic settings, very similar the original ones.
B.T.A. proposes to visit:
- AMITERNUM, the river’s town, which once connected the Sabinia to the Adriatic sea;
- PELTIUNUM, a town founded by the Vestini and the rebuilt by the Romans. It is located in eastern plane of L’Aquila. Among its ruins it is possible to admire the amphitheatre and part of the walls. Close to the ancient ruins there is the church of S. Paolo di Peltiuno, which belongs to the XII century;
- SCHIAVI D’ABRUZZO, among the hills that led to the Trigno valley, an Italic Temple , belonging to the III century, is surrounded by a roman settlement;
- TERAMO, historical centre of the ancient Interamnia Pretuzia, preserves important ruins of a roman amphitheatre and a theatre;
- ALBA FUCENS, preserves the ruins of the most important roman town in Abruzzo. It was built in 303 A.C.in the Equi’s land. The most interesting ruins are: the basilica, the amphitheatre, the thermal and the megalithic walls of the italic period.
